Howa House is one of the most beautiful houses I’ve ever seen. As a Structural Engineer, I’m really chuffed to bits to show it in this entry. I had the opportunity to contribute and collaborate in the development of this project, which is completely designed by my friend and architect Óskar Vélez.
This building has been published in many magazines and websites, like Casa Viva or www.architectural.com.
I really like when they say “Due to combination of orientation and orography of plot not being particularly in favor for the resolution of the task commissioned, the final volume achieved ends up resembling the shape of a gun embedded in the ground”. And, yes, in the end the final result is a good piece of architecture that has a good environmental integration.
During the structure design I propounded Óskar that the supports could be repositioned, so we achieved to have a 21 meter long window overlooking (Schüco).
In this entry I must say that all the photos have been taken by me. I hope you enjoy!
